Installing Science Laboratory Furniture on a Live Site
Klick Technology was selected by the client and Academy Estates to supply and install science laboratory furniture at The London Oratory School. Following the removal of RAAC, the project formed part of a time-critical refurbishment to reinstate the school’s science facilities. With only temporary labs available, prompt delivery was essential.
Acclaim Contracts developed a really good relationship with Klick, who were professional throughout the project. Their operations team were proactive in dealing with queries on site and clear with any instructions. It was a challenging site with logistical issues that impacted deliveries and, with many trades working simultaneously across different areas due to the phased nature of the works, close liaison was imperative. Despite these challenges, Klick’s project and installation teams integrated seamlessly and ensured everything ran smoothly. Their fitting team were helpful, kept the site tidy, and understood the importance of remaining in their dedicated work areas, as the project was carried out on a live site during term time. The school is very happy with the quality of the finished product and the specification of the furniture.”
Taking place during term time, the refurbishment required Klick’s team to adhere strictly to the main contractor’s programme and site rules. Deliveries were scheduled outside school hours and work ceased by 1 pm on Saturdays, to reduce disruption and comply with local noise restrictions. Additionally, weekly coordination meetings helped ensure consistent communication with the architect and Acclaim’s site management.
Logistical Challenges in Science Room Furniture Delivery
The third-floor location presented logistical challenges for delivering large worktops and materials. Klick’s operations team meticulously coordinated deliveries, manufacturing benches and laboratory worktops to exact specifications to enable transportation via the building’s lift. Indeed, Klick’s professionalism and proactive approach were key to keeping the project on track and both phases of the installation were completed on time.

Throughout the project, Klick’s technical input on the science lab fit-out was highly valued. Each space was fitted with modern science lab furniture incorporating cranked island benching and integrated storage. The new labs are a reflection of the school’s academic standards and high-quality learning environment, providing students with a safe, inspiring space for scientific study.
