“We have worked with Klick on a rolling programme to refurbish 6 labs at the school. During the most recent project Klick provided a full science lab refurbishment service and acted as the principal contractor. By the time we confirmed the order the deadlines were very tight and we put their installation team under a lot of pressure. They came back to me with a realistic phased programme which included the last two weeks of term, 4 weeks during the summer break and the first two weeks of the September term. Whilst it is not ideal to undertake major refurbishments during the school term the team worked closely with the school and disruption was kept to an absolute minimum. Their contracts manager co-ordinated everything with expertise and made suggestions to reduce costs to keep to our budget. Everything was completed to schedule and the labs look absolutely amazing. I would happily recommend Klick to anyone.”

The school planned to refurbish 6 labs on a rolling programme and were looking for a smart design with improved functionality and a consistent look throughout the science block.
The design theme ran through the labs although there were different coloured contrast doors and edging details, some with turquoise and others with lime highlights. A large teaching wall was to become the focal point for for each lab with full height storage, an interactive screen and dry white boards.
The refurbishment started in May half term and continued during term time. Work was planned around the school time-table with any noisy activities completed after school hours.
Initially Klick were taken on as the furniture specialists but for the last phase were contracted to complete the full refurbishment package. For the refurbishment phase the order details were finalised at the last minute and Klick liaised with the school to accommodate a phased programme. This included some term-time work and a staggered installation during the summer holidays, depending on the availability of trades.
There was close communication with the school staff to keep them advised of the schedule. During the term-time phase there was a regimented schedule planned around the school timetable for the deliveries, trades and final connections.
There were some issues with channelling the floor due to the RSJs supporting the floor below but the installation team found ways to overcome the difficulties. The project was completed on time and the school were very complimentary about Klick’s service.
