The relationship between Klick and Brookfield was brilliant. They were really flexible in the planning of the project and liaised closely with the school staff regarding the programming of the refurbishment work.
In terms of quality, we think Klick’s refurbishment project has been amazing. The whole school needed a fresh upgrade. The facilities were really outdated and the room layouts didn’t suit today’s teaching requirements. This has brought us into the 21st century.”

SCHOOL REFURBISHMENT PROJECT BRIEF
Brookfield’s science & technology facilities were in need of modernising. Klick were recommended by staff at Redhill Academy Trust as they had already completed successful refurbishment projects for other schools in the trust.
Klick discussed project feasibility, making design suggestions to improve the functionality and layouts, to create an inspirational hub for students.
Due to the scale of the project the school agreed to programme the work to start 4-6 weeks prior to the school summer holidays and continue 2 weeks after. Following discussions with the senior leadership team, the scheduling was agreed in order to minimise disruption. There was a collaborative approach with the site team which allowed the school to continue using the maximum number of rooms.
During term-time, teaching would continue in the classrooms adjacent to work locations, but Klick planned noisy work around the timetable. Skip locations and access points were segregated away from the students, with a site area set up in the car park.
Klick advised opting for a more cost effective system to replace the outdated convection gas heating and this has significantly improved the environment, particularly in the food technology rooms which were previously too hot in the summer and cold in the winter.
The school came to trust Klick’s ability in finding solutions and delivering to their expectations. A close relationship developed between both parties which contributed to the positive outcome of the initial project and repeat business in the following 2 years.
