We have worked with Klick Technology over the summer on the refurbishment of 3 science laboratories. This included a significant amount of building work as one laboratory was converted into two smaller rooms. In addition, our science lecture theatre was redesigned into a Chemistry laboratory. This project was put together at rather short notice but this didn’t affect the quality of the work or the delivery of the project. We are really pleased with the outcome and wouldn’t hesitate to work with Klick again.

PROJECT BRIEF
The school were looking for a modern science lab refurbishment that would ensure 32 students could study both theory and practical work. The aim was to create 4 science labs from the existing 3. One of the original rooms was large enough to be transformed into 2 separate labs.
Design brief for Laboratory Refurbishment
At the start of the project the school discussed with Klick’s designers their wish to create a bright clean atmosphere in the science labs, in contrast with the dark wooden worktops that were there before. They selected light colours to create an inspiring environment for teachers and students.
Remodelling of the Science Labs
Before the science lab refurbishment could begin, the tiered seating in the old lecture theatre had to be removed. Extensive alterations were required to the heating system to facilitate the new layout.
A new stud wall was built to divide 1 large laboratory into 2 smaller labs. There wasn’t sufficient space for full-size sinks and so it was agreed that drip cups would be more suitable. The prep room sinks would be used for washing up any equipment.
Overall, the school are really happy with both the installation process and the end result.
