We were looking for something different for the new labs and Klick impressed us with the wow factor of their 'learning curve' design which is innovative and yet has given us a practical teaching space accommodating 32 students all facing the board. The installation ran very smoothly and we are very happy with the quality of work and particularly with the finish of the Velstone work surfaces.
Judy Brinson – Business Manager, Bodmin College, Cornwall
The college opted for a modular building as a cost effective way of making provision for their new labs. The brief was to come up with something practical and yet different to suit the space. The 2 new labs were to accommodate 32 students with none having their backs to the board.
Klick were nominated by Kendall Kingscott and were delighted to be awarded the furniture contract as a result of our innovative design. The learning curve layout was adapted to suit the dimensions of the Elliott modular building. The worktop material selected was 25mm Velstone which not only creates the seamless homogenous shapes required for this layout but also gives the durability necessary for a modern lab.
The leadtimes were very tight but Klick were able to provide fitters to work 6 continuous days over a weekend to facilitate completion of the programme.
The project ran very smoothly, our site team worked closely with the builder and Elliott to co-ordinate final connections. The furniture has enhanced the modular building creating two light and appealing science laboratories.
