Tailored Design Process for Special Needs Classrooms

Every SEND environment requires a unique and thoughtful approach. At Klick, we collaborate closely with teachers, SEND professionals and students to ensure each learning space suits the school’s specific needs.

Our design process includes:

  • Consultative design workshops with school teams
  • Moodboards and visualisation tools to help students adapt to new spaces
  • The option of dedicated workspaces to help create an ordered environment

“Klick made an outstanding contribution with their food technology classroom design. Their consultant was excellent in submitting layout options until our staff were happy and the 3D visualisations gave a very accurate representation of the finished room.”

John Harrison – Premises Manager, Dawn House School, Notts

Case Study: New Horizons School, Hastings

New Horizons School supports students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. For the food technology room, Klick collaborated with school staff and considered feedback from the students when re-designing the space.

“Klick worked closely with the school to develop the layout of the room. They responded well to the designs the students had presented, providing additional visualisations so that the students could monitor agreed adaptations. They were helpful throughout the process, fitting in well with the demands of the school against their working schedule.”

Large-Scale Special Needs School Furniture Installation

At Torc Campus, Klick delivered a full fit-out across 68 separate learning spaces for students with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The installation included:

  • Science labs and food tech rooms
  • Art, design and music classrooms
  • Medical rooms and laundry spaces

Our project management team ensured smooth coordination, timely delivery and minimal disruption on-site.

“It was quite some achievement to coordinate the installation of furniture into 68 different areas within the school. However, Klick managed it and we are all very pleased with the end result. The children are thrilled to have a proper school at last!”
Vicky Vernon, Head Teacher, Torc Campus, Tamworth
