Klick were approached to provide a quotation for a 6th Form science lab refurbishment. They consulted with the science department and designed the layout for the new lab. Their quote was comprehensive and their pricing proved to be competitive. Work commenced in May half term and continued during term time, causing minimum disruption to the school routine. The installation team were very accommodating on site and I am really impressed with the quality of the new laboratory. The teaching staff are thrilled with the end result and can’t wait to start teaching the students in it.

PROJECT BRIEF
The school wanted to upgrade their outdated 6th form science facilities. The brief was to completely modernise the laboratory, creating a more practical environment to teach ‘A’ level science. Wolfson funding was secured by the school and following a competitive tender process Klick were selected to carry out the refurbishment work.
The school opted for a flexible design with serviced bollards and loose tables which suited the narrow proportions of the room. They were keen to replace the old dark wood furniture with a brighter and more inspirational colour scheme. Turquoise doors were selected with Aqua Blue KI Postura stools to complete the look.
The existing services came into the lab from the prep room but the provision was not adequate for the new layout. The water, gas, electricity and waste all had to be re-routed and new connections made. New shut-offs were installed for the gas and water supply.
The old fume extraction system was removed and a new mobile fume cupboard with docking station was installed.
The refurbishment project ran smoothly and the science department were really pleased with the amazing transformation.
