PROJECT BRIEF
Hologic is a molecular diagnostics company with headquarters in San Diego, California. The client wanted to redevelop their existing laboratories in Manchester as part of an expansion of the company’s European operations.
THE RESULTS
Klick worked closely with Boulting Environmental Services and the UK branch of Hologic to determine the requirements for the lab furniture. Hologic stressed the importance of maximising the laboratory storage space and maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness throughout the testing facility.
Bespoke Laboratory Storage
Klick developed bespoke laboratory storage units and with some careful planning incorporated existing storage systems into the modifications of the room. Our designers were involved in close liaison regarding the specification of the furniture and matching the colour to an existing scheme. Our team designed island and perimeter units with shelves underneath. These units were fabricated in Trespa because of its durability and scratch resistance.
Mobile Laboratory Furniture UK
Mobile under bench cabinets were specified. These units allow greater flexibility within the laboratory as they can easily be relocated by the user without disruption to the working space.
As part of the project Klick also refurbished the pass through hatches with new doors. Despite additional work being added to the programme the site team still managed to stick to the already tight programme.
