As an experienced laboratory furniture manufacturer their input was critical in refining the design details and ensuring the furniture specification was suitable for the specific weights of the heavy lab equipment required. There was a tight schedule but we worked in partnership throughout the project, with excellent communication to ensure the handover deadlines were met. Oxford BioDynamics were relocating to a new 24,000 sq ft headquarters. ParkLaine were acting as the principal contractor and were looking for a furniture supplier to work in partnership with their team to create an innovative lab space.
Furniture Supplier for Cat 2 Labs
A specialist lab furniture supplier was needed to fit out the state of the art laboratories including Cat 2 labs. The labs will facilitate the delivery of Oxford BioDynamics’ commercial test development, biomarker discovery and drug development programmes for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.
Lab Furniture Design Details
Heavy lab equipment was to be situated on the laboratory benching and therefore all specification details, including size and weight of the machinery, were considered when designing the furniture, in order to ensure the appropriate loading and minimise vibration.
Large island units were required with Trespa worktops. Our designers developed a slot design in the centre of each island to take the cabling from the machinery to ensure the work areas would remain free of cables. The furniture was designed to be 940mm high in order to accommodate existing mobile units underneath the work benches.
Furniture Fit Out for Oxford BioDynamics Labs
The project needed to be delivered within a very tight timescale. The Klick installation team worked closely with ParkLaine and all trades on site in order to ensure the furniture was installed according to the schedule. Any issues on site were dealt with proactively and promptly and Oxford BioDynamics are really happy with how the project turned out.
