09 Jun New Safety Hinge
We will shortly be introducing a new safety hinge for our range of cupboards. Klick were made aware of a serious trapping injury to a school child by Gloucestershire County Council. Although the incident was not using our furniture, it alerted us to the need to change our hinge design to cut out the possibility of it happening again.
At the time there were no alternative products suitable for the school environment so our Technical Purchasing Manager initiated discussions with suppliers. In the meantime we sourced a clip on hinge cover as a retrofit measure, which is available for any schools that are concerned about their existing hinges.
Following a period of product development we are now pleased to offer the new improved hinge which has a solid design eliminating the trapping problem. We consider this product to have improved strength, durability and appearance.
